Please, please Improve the 'Files and parts' Interface

(1/1)

Radish:
Usually, on completion of a post, we all have to check if all the parts of the post arrived on the server. Often the answer is no. So we have to go right-click on the file list in CS-PP, select 'Task properties' and then start 'checking in' all the parts that we would like to resend to 'repair' the post to completion. I would like to suggest the following improvements to that 'File & parts' interface.

a)  Please make it possible to 'resize' the entire 'Task item properties' window and have CS-PP remember the last size and position used of that window.  Could also code in a toggle on/off check box for the window to have it 'auto-resize' the window for height according to the number of parts in the list (but, even at that, still remember the top-left screen coordinate for the previously used window position). It would be a huge improvement if users could see every single one of those 'check' boxes in one single list view.

b)  Add to that dialogue all the usual ways one can make multiple selections in Windows Explorer. In effect, multiple select by using <control>+<mouse-click>, multiple select by using <shift>+<mouse-click>.

c) Once the 'multiple select' feature is done, add to that either a right-click context menu on any one of the multiple selected items which allows to toggle 'checked/uncheck' all of the selected items. Or add a new button to the dialogue that will toggle 'checked/unchecked' for all selected items. (Or add both of these ways of doing the same thing.)

d)  Add a new button so that after all the 'checking/unchecking' has been done the new button can be clicked and that 'file' will be instantly 're-queued' and the entire dialogue window then closes automatically.

I think if those features were added to CS-PP then that would be huge step forward for ease of cleaning up a post to completion and would blow all earlier implementations of 'PowerPost' out of the water in one quick step.

Hope the suggestions meet with approval.

Timothy:
multiple selections is something i must dig in, was already searching for a way of doing that in the past, so that one is on my 'to do list'
I think that your suggestions will be a welcome update for powerpost, so lets see what i can do with it.

I'm still looking for people who want to help with the implementation of all suggestions and improvements, since i'm not that fast in coding, a small improvement cost a lot of time if i'm doing it. ;-) Trial on error  :o

Thanks Timothy for your work on CamelPost, I find it very good poster program. Good to see your still working on it!  :)
